Geoff Wheatley - Production Manager

Geoff has worked with Newpalm since the early 1970's and became production manager in 1978. He has worked on all of Newpalm's productions since that time. He thoroughly enjoys the way that every production presents a different set of challenges, whether it is the logistics of moving Seven Brides For Seven Brothers from Southsea to Northern Ireland via Scotland because of the avialability of ferries; the difficulties posed by the weapons used in Deathtrap whilst the play was in Northern Ireland during the "troubles"; the practicalities of having dupicate sets manufactured in Hong Kong rather than the difficulty of shipping the originals out from the UK.

With so many productions, many stand out for different reasons - Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, both in the West End and on tour, for the music, the cast, and the production team; Joseph's Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (twice) and Wizard of Oz (once) in Hong Kong, both times with Chinese subtitles, because of the audience reaction and the whole experience; Peter Pan, both on tour and in the West End, for the cast and the production team; The Woman In Black in Chelmsford for the audience reaction; Madness of George III and Diary of Anne Frank for being involved in such wonderful productions; Les Miserables - In Concert for the music, the cast, the crew, the production team, the venue - everything, in fact!
